Love my welsh crosses, I have three of them ranging from 14-15+ hh and they are my breed or cross of choice.

So do i! **) (though i don't use Welsh Cob)
Have bred several Welsh crosses, although crossed with Arabian/Arabian Derivative & most not exceeding 12.3hh... i do love the Welsh (in my case, A & B sections only) influence.

And i'm forever asked if i could just increase the ponies i've bred, heights to 14/15hh + LOL. No can do i'm afraid.

There was a cob that competed in the Disabled Olympics last year who performed well, I can only say follow your heart, the Cobs are fun, easy, dependable and very loveable.

For TB x GC examples, Kirashae Park Stud in South Australia are predominately breeding these for performance horses, definately a stud to look out for they now have youngstock on the ground and we are all looking forward to seeing what they can do.

There are GC Stallions to suit most people, some extremely quiet ones that pass this on, great for kids, older people, someone needing safe and dependable, but may be tooo quiet for some. There are some other blood-lines that are putting out movers and groovers, great games and jumping ponies. Its a matter of asking around, the youngsters are really now just coming out of green-broke and starting to do things.

Here is a lovely cob doing a fairly nice test at the British Dressage Champs

I have crossed a larger cob with my Waler mare to produce are large hunter ridden prospect, he is a little over 2 now and is really something to look at with movement that makes my heart sing.

If you want any specific details, just ask, I am happy to answer any questions.

I am getting confused now lol

The OP asked about the gypsy cob cross and this has migrated to the welsh cob cross?

Totally different in my books?

Okay I am going to jump in here and say that yes I do have a TBxGypsy... she is about 18months at the moment, unfortunately I can't put pictures up at the moment but she is lovely (biased muchly:rolleyes:) She is everything I have wanted... more 'sporthorse' than really heavy (although this is still hard to tell due to her age) she is quiet, moves well and will be a great all rounder. I am hoping she will finish up about 14.2-15hh. If you wanted to look at one in the flesh, I will be at the Bibs and Booties show on the 5th of May... and no she is definately NOT for sale . Please feel free to ask any questions **)

I was going to produce this exact cross, a GC to TB but ended up buying a youngster instead. I bought a GC cross Trakehner. He is a smashing mover and type with a calm, reliable temperament. Truly an old soul. He will be just perfect for me as I want a best mate who I can enjoy training and competing.

I decided not to breed my own after I lost the first colt I bred. I wouldn't have been able to handle another heartbreak. I also understood the expense and gamble of raising a mare and foal. Then I was watching the sale websites and happened upon my boy. As they say the rest is history **)

Best of luck in your decision!

i am considering breeding my thoroughbred mare to a gypsy cob stallion and am wondering if there is anyone on here that has done the same?
pros and cons etc of this cross and photos would be fantastic!

the mare in question is a proven breeder who i have been lucky enough to own for the past 5yrs and stands around 16.3hh.. shes beautifully put together, very solid! and has a double x of jevignton

i am wanting to breed a future riding horse, with nice movement, even better temperment and a willing nature with the added bonus of color, that i can use for dressage lessons, general riding and basically something i can enjoy.

is there a particular line i should steer clear from?

any info would be greatly appreciated

Outside of gaming, I love getting outdoors for hikes or reading sci-fi books to clear my mind after long screen sessions. Balance is everything—taking a step back helps keep screen time enjoyable without feeling burnt out. When I do want a quick, casual break online between outdoor activities, checking out smooth and easy-to-navigate platforms like dragon money bonus is a nice way to unwind. Cooking new recipes is another huge hobby of mine. What about everyone else here?

thanks for the information!
